WP2: Model transformation framework

by Dirk Balfanz last modified 2008-11-04 17:11

The purpose of WP2 is to develop a model transformation framework and a methodology for development of adaptive systems.

Transformation Framework: Develop transformations from design specifications to operational models according to the reference architecture specified in WP3. The task includes:

  • Developing a specification language for specification of adaptive system designs at a platform independent level (i.e., a domain specific language (DSL) for adaptive systems). The specification language will include support for specification of variability as aspects, and will be the basis for creating the adaptation model.
  • Develop a model composition and model transformation framework for generating the adaptation model based on the requirements specification from WP1, and weaving new configurations according to the reference architecture specified in WP3.

DiVA Methodology: The methodology will provide an overall description of how to build and run adaptive systems following the DiVA approach. It will empahsise methods for mapping WP1 requirements specifications to design specifications (adaptation model) and further mapping to the runtime models. The methodology will provide methods to manage and reduce the potentially large number of configurations.
